On Memorial Day, the Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Goa paid tribute to Dayanand Balkrishna Bandodkar, the first Chief Minister of Goa, with ceremonies at Farmagudi, Ponda, and Miramar. Led by Madhu Naik, President of the Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh Goa and State President of the Savitribai Phule Prathisthan, the tribute at Farmagudi highlighted Bandodkar’s contributions to education and social reform. Naik emphasized Bandodkar’s legacy as a visionary leader committed to social justice and the upliftment of marginalized communities in Goa.
At Miramar, Padmanabh Amonkar, Working President, along with Sarvesh Sundar Bandodkar, General Secretary, Gurudas Sawal, Advisor, Aditya Chodankar, GCA Member, and Ramdas Savoiverkar, State Executive, also honored Bandodkar’s memory. They reflected on his leadership during Goa’s formative years post-liberation, noting his efforts to promote education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Bandodkar, fondly known as ‘Bhau,’ is remembered for his dedication to social equality and the welfare of the Bahujan Samaj. His initiatives, such as providing free education to Goan children, have left a lasting impact on the state.
