Grant of Stipends to the Physically Handicapped Students

Objective:-

The objective of the scheme is to improve the educational status to the handicapped children studying in standard 1st to 10th by way of providing financial assistance to the parents of the children who are otherwise unable to sent them to school due to economic reasons.

Eligibility:-

For the purpose of the award of stipend under these rules the handicapped students must fulfill the following conditions:

i. The applicant must be a bonifide resident of the State of Goa.

ii. The applicant must be regular student of a recognised school.

iii. The combined income the parents/guardian of applicant should not be more than Rs.25000/- per annum.

iv. The applicant should not be residing and receiving any maintenance in any institutions under the Government or local bodies or private organizations receiving grant-in-aid from local or the Central Governmemt.

v. The applicant is not in receipt of any other stipend or scholarship from any other source.

vi. If a family has more than one handicapped child, all such children will be eligible for the award of stipend under these rules subject to the conditions that other conditions under these rules are fulfilled.

vii. The applicant must be physically handicapped provided for under Rule 4 read with Rule 5 of these rules.

viii. The applicant shall not be eligible for the award of stipend if he/she happen to be a repeater in a particular standard. However on failure can be condone at the discretion of the Director.

 

Assistance:-

1. The eligible students will be paid the stipend at following rates:-

a. From I to IVth Class as per Rs.200/- per month.

b. From V to VIIIth Class – as per Rs.200/- per month.

c. From IX to XII Class – as per Rs.300/- per month.

ii) The stipends at the above rates will be given from the full academic year (11 months) in two installment first installment being paid in Sept. and the second in Jan.

  • Income Certificate
    (Income Certificate valid for 3 years from the date of issue)
  • Mark Sheet Certificate
  • Copy of Fees Paid
  • Bank Account.
